About
Welcome to my little learning space! I am so excited to have you here! My hope is to create a space to share my ideas, tip, tricks and all things related to teaching.
I currently teach 2nd grade teacher in Albuquerque, New Mexico. That’s right, If you were a Looney Tunes fan, Albuquerque was where Bugs Bunny always missed that left turn. This little desert has always been the place I call home.
More about what landed me here on this space. I absolutely love teaching and I love working with teachers. I also love sharing my ideas, so I decided to go all in and here I am!
When I’m not teaching or creating, I’m living that mom life. I have 2 sassy girls, like their mama. They keep me busy and give me constant feedback (unsolicited) on literally everything I say and do. That’s the life of a mom of teens. If you are a mom of a teen, or soon to be a mom of a teen and need a support group, I’m here for you mama!
I have been in the classroom for 18 years. I started out teaching 1st grade for 7 years then moved to 2nd grade where I’ve been ever since. I love primary grades because they are so loving and still love school, mostly. They are easy to entertain, love me no matter what and laugh at all my cheesy jokes.
Aside from being a wife, mama and teacher, I am a creator. I’ve always loved creating however, when I started creating, it was literally – make everything yourself with a blank piece of paper and markers…and a ruler so everything lined up. My Teachers Pay Teachers journey started at a very emotional time of my life. My mom suffered a brain aneurysm and survived, which was a miracle. She had surgery and needed rehab. She had to relearn everything all over again, including how to swallow food. It was a long recovery road. During her time in rehab my family and I decided we needed to be by her side all day and at night until she got her last dose of meds and was comfortably asleep. I had the evening shift. I would teach all day, make and eat dinner with my family, then go to the rehab facility. At this time my mom was unresponsive and slept most of the time. I would bring my laptop to get my lessons ready for the following day because I knew I would be tired. I would make all my slides in powerpoint and link videos. Teachers Pay Teachers was still new to me but I remember my first purchase. I loved how it was organized so perfectly and all the resources were ready to go. I felt like I was already doing this for my classroom so I decided to spend my quiet evenings sitting at my moms bedside learning how to put it all together. When I’m creating, I’m in my happy place and when I was sitting with my mom creating, it was comforting. Creating helped me mentally get through my moms very long recovery.
I am thankful for the experience I have as an educator, parent, co-worker and creator. All of these experiences have led me to where I am today. A special thank you to Teachers Pay Teachers for valuing me as a professional and providing an amazing platform for teachers. All my experiences have brought me to the road I am currently on…this space! Welcome to my little learning space, so glad you’re here!
